My World, Reimagined

One Month Later

Ok, so it’s been a little while since I’ve posted. I’ve been busy – trying to adjust to the new job, trying to get rid of the zombie ebola virus (or COPD some-crap-or-other if you believe the doctor who spent a whole 2 minutes with a stethoscope), and trying to find my “groove.” How’s it going? Well, it’s going well, for the most part. I love the job. I’m learning a lot, and I’m pretty good at it, honestly. But it does come with its bad side: I miss my best friend. Now, though, there just isn’t enough time anymore.

As far as the job goes, though, it’s turning out to be a nice gig. For the most part it’s pretty easy, although there is a ton to learn. I AM learning, though. Every day I learn something new. Every day I delve into new areas and “get my hands dirty.” I love the feeling of accomplishment when I figure something out. And I love being able to sit and do my job, without worrying about a supervisor standing over my shoulder and watching my every move. I’m free to get up and walk away from my desk if I need to, which is awesome. The breaks kinda suck, though. Two 15-minute breaks, and a 30-minute lunch. They just aren’t long enough. It seems like by the time I eat and spend a few minutes chatting, it’s time to go back. I don’t like it. But what can ya do, ya know?

In other news, the reviewing world is getting a little suckier. I’ve managed to fall behind on reviews yet again (I spend the weekend getting caught up and ahead, and plan to stay that way.. deja vu, right?). But now, some of these companies are expecting us to actually pay? Really? Prsh! Not gonna happen. Forget you and your cheap products, buddy!
