My World, Reimagined

#BehindTheBlogger: I Could Only Imagine

I could only imagine lots of things. For instance, I could only imagine a perfect universe.. a perfect world.. a perfect life. My perfect life? I would be surrounded by people who love me. People who I can laugh with. Smile with. Comfort them when they need it, and be comforted by when I do. Unfortunately life isn’t perfect.

My perfect life would also include beautiful things.

Things like big lakes, or an ocean (I miss the water. Oklahoma “lakes” are pitiful. They’re barely more than oversized cow ponds with a few fish in them). I miss smelling the crisp sea breeze, the salty air. I miss laying back on a big boulder, watching the sun go down over the water, hearing the waves lap at the shore, feeling the cool air hitting my skin.

Things like trees blowing in the wind. Birds chirping as the sun comes up over the horizon. Wide open spaces, with no neighbors ten feet away. Sitting on a porch swing, cup of coffee in my hand, just relaxing, swinging, smiling, listening. Not a care in the world. No stress. No worries. No sadness. No pain. Nothing but joy and happiness and special people.

Things like walking barefoot through the morning dew, laughing at the water droplets tickling my feet (yeah, I said it!).

Things like waking up in the morning, rolling over and smiling. Sitting up in bed, being handed a cup of coffee. A kiss on the forehead. A tender smile. A twinkle in the eye that fills my heart with joy.

These are all things that my perfect life would include. But my life isn’t perfect. So all I can do is imagine.
